Contemporary art, documentary photographs and old paintings of books, libraries and readers

LIBRARY is an exhibition that brings together books, libraries and readers in documentary photographs, old paintings and contemporary art.

The exhibition has been curated by Veikko Halmetoja and it features six contemporary artists: Erno Enkenberg, Terhi Heino, Emmi Kallio, Dzamil Kamanger, Joel Karppanen and Veera Kulju. The older works are by i.a. Veikko Vionoja, Alvar Cawén och Pekka Halonen.

Between 1875–1909 and 1928–1977, the Exhibition Hall functioned as a library – a place, where you learn to make choices, build your own taste and create a worldview and outlook on life. LIBRARY is an exhibition that describes all of this through documentary photographs, old paintings and contemporary art.
