Limitation on the number of people attending hobby activities arranged by the City of Vaasa to ten will continue until 31 March. This decision is based on the recommendations published by the Ostrobothnia Corona Coordination Group on 12 February.

The recommendation of the Ostrobothnia Corona Coordination Group is that no private events are to be arranged for more than 10 people. The previous recommendation, that was valid until 14 February, has now been extended until 31 March 2021.

– This means that all matches and tournaments will have to be cancelled until the end of March, excluding top sporting activities. A maximum of 10 participants is to be observed in trainings for children and youngsters. In addition, safe social distancing and the use of face masks in changing rooms must still be taken care of in trainings arranged for children and youngsters, says Director of Sport Mika Lehtonen.

The sport services of the City of Vaasa will send their customers a cancellation notice via the TIMMI reservation system.

– Some bulk delivery emails have not arrived. You can check your own reservations at TIMMI, says Lehtonen.

Adult hobbies suspended until 28 February

Regarding hobbies, the Corona Coordination Group further emphasises that their recommendation is to suspend indoor hobbies for people over the age of 20. Consequently, all evening and weekend exercise and sport trainings for people over the age of 20 have been cancelled at sports facilities managed by the City of Vaasa. In addition, group teaching at Vaasa’s Alma Adult Education Institute is suspended or implemented as distance learning. This recommendation is valid until 28 February 2021. The Corona Coordination Group will reassess the situation before the end of this period.
