Secondary school pupils return to classroom teaching as planned on 26 October

In the basic education in the City of Vaasa, pupils in Years 7-9 will return to classroom teaching as planned on Monday 26 October. Face masks will be distributed to secondary school pupils in the schools.

The City of Vaasa’s Crisis Management Team met on Thursday 22 October, and their decision will come into force on 19 October.

– The number of corona infections in the City of Vaasa has clearly decreased. There is no longer an essential need to continue distance learning for secondary school pupils. We will continue to follow the same safety and hygiene requirements in the schools as throughout the autumn, say school directors Kari Nummela and Marianne West.

Face masks will be distributed to secondary school pupils

Face masks will be distributed to secondary school pupils during 26 October – 30 October for use during the school day. Every pupil will be given two masks per school day.

The mask recommendation is valid in secondary schools until further notice. Continuation of the recommendation will be evaluated weekly.
