Three coronavirus infections at Onkilahti School - 85 quarantined after exposure

Three coronavirus infections were discovered at Onkilahti School (Onkilahden yhtenäiskoulu) on 31 January. A total of 85 people have been potentially exposed to the virus.

The staff of Onkilahden yhtenäiskoulu, the pupils quarantined and the guardians of the pupils of the whole school have been informed about the situation. The quarantine affects a total of 66 pupils and 19 adults.

The school provides instruction for grades 1-9 and both the lower and upper grades have been exposed.

– Work to identify potential exposure was initiated as soon as information on the infection became available. All those exposed have been traced and quarantined. The teaching of quarantined students is handled as distance learning, says school director Kari Nummela.
