Physiotherapy for children 0-6 years

Paediatric physiotherapy is the assessment and support of the child's motor development, mobility and functional ability. The physiotherapist gives parents advice and guidance on how to support their child's motor development in daily life.

The goal is that the child achieves an independent and normal ability to move and function according to their developmental stages.

Children may have a variety of motor challenges, such as delayed or abnormal motor development as well as posture problems with the head, body and limbs.

If parents are concerned about their child’s mobility and functional ability, it may be advisable to discuss this with the nurse at your local health station. If necessary, the doctor or nurse at your child health clinic will refer the child for physiotherapy.

Appointments for paediatric physiotherapy are announced by letter or telephone. Physiotherapy for children 0-6 years is free.
