Kipinät

Kipinät (Sparks in English) is a brilliant mixed chorus, which has main focus on rhythm, living from the love of music and singing together.

Kipinät is from a Finnish music campus in Jyväskylä. It is a sparkling choir singing popular music and approaching Finnish choir tradition in a new and fresh way. In addition to performing pop and jazz music, the choir wants to spread the joy of choral improvisation worldwide. The collective is led by its founder Kaisa Halmemies.

Kipinät was established to bring high-quality choral music to Jyväskylä’s distinguished choir field. The choir debuted in spring 2018 and its regular activities started the following autumn. In June 2019, Kipinät was awarded with the highest possible recognition (3 gold medals) in the International Choir Review of Tampereen Sävel.
