In proportion to population, Vaasa is Finland’s largest city of higher education. In Vaasa you can earn your degree in three languages ​​at five different universities, offering alternatives and opportunities in more than 30 multilingual qualifications. Through research and development platforms, our local centres of learning are advancing innovations within the region’s most significant solutions. In many cases, breakthroughs are traded through regional incubators and science parks, and new start-ups are continually emerging.

VEBIC (Vaasa Energy Business Innovation Center) is a research and innovation platform hosted by Vaasa University. It brings together research and business know-how and strives to meet the global needs of efficient energy production, the energy business and sustainable social development.

Technobothnia

The Technobothnia Education and Research Centre is a channel of co-operation between educational institutions, businesses and other research institutes and technology centres. It strengthens the position of Vaasa as a significant centre of expertise in the field of technology. Technobothnia is co-owned and used by the University of Vaasa, Vaasa University of Applied Sciences and Novia University of Applied Sciences.
