The bus travels from Vaasa city centre towards the archipelago and makes a stop at the World Heritage Gateway, located at the foot of the impressive Replot Bridge. Visitors can join an introduction to the Kvarken World Heritage Site – a unique landscape shaped by the Ice Age and still evolving due to ongoing land uplift. There is also time to shortly explore the area independently or take photos of the bridge and surrounding archipelago.
At 11:00, the bus continues to Svedjehamn in the heart of the Kvarken Archipelago. Here you can experience a unique landscape formed by the Ice Age, where land uplift continues to reshape nature. The characteristic De Geer moraines form a fascinating “pearl necklace” pattern best viewed from the iconic Saltkaret observation tower.
The area offers beautiful and easily accessible nature, rich birdlife, and an authentic archipelago environment where traditions and history are still alive. Svedjehamn is a place for both experiences and relaxation – where silence, sea and a truly unique landscape meet.
The bus stays in Svedjehamn until 12:45, and you are free to spend your time as you wish.
