Christmas in Södermalm is organised annually to preserve the tradition of Christmas markets, open up the town’s historic neighbourhood and create a welcoming space for people to come together during the festive season.
Along Storgatan and in the unique courtyard of After Eight, thousands of visitors can explore market stalls offering a mix of traditional and contemporary handicrafts, as well as After Eight’s own Christmas products. You might just find the Christmas gift you have been looking for, or something delicious to complete your Christmas table.
Inside the café, you can enjoy seasonal treats such as rice pudding, ham sandwiches, traditional Swedish saffron buns and coffee. In the outdoor tent, you can buy grilled sausages, coffee and mulled wine. Festive music and a wonderful Christmas atmosphere complete the experience.
Christmas in Södermalm takes place on 12 December 2026 at Music Café After Eight, Storgatan 6, and is open from 10 am to 3 pm.
Admission is free for all visitors.
During the market, Storgatan outside After Eight is closed to traffic. Parking is available on nearby streets and in the underground car park.
