Applications for cultural grants for 2027 will open in November

Grants will be awarded for artistic work, individual projects, and activities that promote inclusion and community spirit and are open to the public in Vaasa. Applications are open to individuals, working groups, associations and communities based in Vaasa.

Communities and associations in Vaasa actively involved in cultural work can apply for one- or three-year operating grants to support their established and ongoing activities. The 3-year operating grant is aimed at associations with a strong desire to develop their activities and a clear development plan for the next three years.

Applications must be submitted online

Applications must be submitted online between 1–30 November 2026 at: https://varaus.vaasa.fi/WebTimmi/#/26.

Please note that even if you are applying for a grant for 2027, you must select 2026 in the online system because the application period ends before the end of 2026.

Twin Town Fund grants for cultural and sports cooperation

Applications will also open in November for grants from the Twin Town Fund, which supports cultural and sports cooperation between Vaasa and Umeå. Twin Town Fund grants are available to sports clubs registered in Vaasa, as well as to Vaasa-based arts and culture groups and organisations. The goal is to support exchanges and joint projects between the two cities.

During the November application period, cultural operators may also apply for support towards renting workspaces in Funkkis House in 2027.
