With pictures we can meet people whose lives and stories have become part of our common cultural heritage.
These pictures give us an understanding of life during the first decade of the 20th century. Prominent in these pictures are the local folk costumes, which signal a strong local identity and a rich tradition of holidays, family gatherings and everyday life. The exhibit is part of LaFolk Festival and organised in collaboration with Luckan Sydösterbotten. On the screen concurrently is the slideshow Folkdans, folkmusik och spelmän i Svenskfinland (Folkdance, folkmusic and musicians in Swedish-speaking FInland), made by Finlans svenska musikinstitut.
