Tom Dodd, HMA, British Embassy

Tom Dodd has been Her Majesty’s Ambassador to Helsinki since January 2018. His career has spanned roles in the Cabinet Office, Foreign and Commonwealth Office, Home Office and House of Commons, principally in inter-agency co-ordination, security and analysis. His previous overseas postings include Kabul (as Chargé and Deputy Ambassador)

Mari K. Niemi , Research Director, e2 Research

Mari K. Niemi is a research director in an independent, Helsinki-based research organisation e2 Research. In 2018-2020 she worked as Director of the University of Vaasa's InnoLab research platform, collaborating closely with city's vibrant energy cluster. In October 2020 Mari moved back to Glasgow, Scotland

Lauren Luscombe, Senior Associate, Burges Salmon LLP

Lauren is a senior associate solicitor in the Burges Salmon construction and engineering team, specialising in energy infrastructure projects. She advises investors, developers, contractors and authorities. Her experience spans a range of energy technologies, including hydrogen, solar, wind (onshore and offshore), battery storage, EVs, nuclear and geothermal

Victoria Zastava, Head of Sector; Energy and Infrastructure, Department for International Trade (DIT)

Victoria is a Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) professional who leads the Energy and Infrastructure team for the DIT’s Investment Services Team (IST). Victoria’s team presents the UK market proposition to international investors and provides in-depth sector advice and project and account management support for the implementation of inward investment.

Jarkko Aro, Director of Sales and Operations, I.C. Electrical ltd - VEO

Jarkko has been 21 years at VEO Group and has held several management positions within the Group. He holds a M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering and leadership MBA and has extensive international business and business development experience in various countries. Jarkko also has an extensive experience and know-how of the Energy technology field!

The Department for International Trade (DIT) helps businesses export, drives inward and outward investment, negotiates market access and trade deals, and champions free trade.
