GUIDELINES album release concert.
The album is a tribute to Mirella’s parents and their dramatic love story in the 1970s. Guidelines contains pop/jazz and soul songs in English and Spanish, and the lyrics are based on letters exchanged between her parents. They had a very passionate but destructive relationship and the songs are partly written as a dialogue between them, with themes such as commitment, love, and deceit.
By exploring her roots and origins, Mirella has found answers to many questions and has been able to process emotions in her own life. Despite the songs being largely autobiographical, they are relatable and written for today’s world.
The musicians, Janne Hyöty, Eero Paalanen, Ralf Nyqvist and Tuukka Aitoaho, play on the album as well as in the concert, along with some guest musicians.
