Panu Ruotsalo returns to Vaasa with his new, more personal and intimate exhibition UMBRA.
“The name of the exhibition, Umbra, comes from Latin and means shadow – specifically its darkest part. In my art, I see it as the more hidden aspect of the mind, a source and a place of infinity. Sometimes, from the complete darkness of the umbra, beings rise toward the penumbra – these figures that I paint and have grown so deeply attached to in my work.”
