Eco Bonus for climate actions: application ongoing!
Published: 3.11.2025
Vaasa is the 2026 European Green Leaf city. In honor of the anniversary year, associations and resident communities operating in Vaasa have the opportunity to apply for support of approximately 100–1000 euros for an event, campaign, small investment, or other action that fits the Green Leaf year’s theme. The application period for the Eco Bonus ends on December 7, 2025.
The Eco Bonus application criteria emphasize sustainability and environmental impact: implementations must support green values such as biodiversity, energy efficiency, and circular economy. The goal is also to encourage community spirit and inspire Vaasa residents of all ages to help develop their city into a more pleasant and greener place.
How to apply for Eco Bonus
The application period for Eco Bonus starts on November 3 and ends on December 7, 2025. Applications are submitted via the form on the vaasa.fi/en/ecobonus page. Eco Bonus can be applied for by associations and resident communities: the application must therefore be in the name of a community or group with a bank account so that the support can be granted. The Eco Bonus is paid against submitted receipts.
The City of Vaasa will contact the recipients of the Eco Bonus by email no later than the end of February 2026.
Goal: Broad Participation and Sustainable Impact
The application must include an estimated budget (100–1000 €) and an idea that can be implemented with that amount. Special attention is paid to ensuring that as many Vaasa residents as possible can participate in the implementation.
Applications should also consider how the implemented ideas can be communicated, for example, in the Vaasa region event calendar or in the association’s and community’s own social media channels.
