No passage through the Paperisilta Bridge construction site

The temporary pathway alongside the Paperisilta Bridge (Putusilta), which provides access to the construction site, will be removed on Monday, 20 October. After this, passage through the construction site will be strictly forbidden.
Although the bridge has been closed for the duration of the construction work, the temporary embankment has been used for unauthorised crossing. Once the embankment is removed and the channel reopened, passage through the area will be strictly prohibited for safety reasons. Explanatory signs will be installed on site. Pedestrians and cyclists must detour around Onkilahti.
Construction of the new Paperisilta Bridge began at the start of August, as the old bridge was too narrow and in poor condition. The new bridge is scheduled to open to traffic by 30 November 2025.
