Roadworks on Teirinkatu will begin on 19 May

Published: 13.5.2025

Improvement works will begin on the Teirinkatu street area, bringing significant upgrades to the area. The purpose of the improvements is to renew the street structures and stormwater drainage, reorganise parking, and improve conditions for walking and cycling.

Improvement works on Teirinkatu will begin on 19 May 2025, and they are scheduled to be completed by 24 October 2025. Work on the site will pause for the summer holiday from 30 June to 27 July 2025.

The work will begin with the removal of asphalt near Suvilahti School and continue along Teirinkatu.

After the asphalt removal, a new stormwater drain line will be installed along Teirinkatu, starting from the Uumajankatu intersection. During the excavation, underground electrical conduits will also be installed for two network operators.

As the work progresses, kerb blocks will be installed along the pavement, and speed tables will be added at the intersections.

The roadworks will not cause any changes to traffic arrangements. However, the entire Teirinkatu street will be a construction site, and road users are asked to exercise extra caution in the area.
