Temporary closures at the junction of Koulukatu and Korsholmanpuistikko from 8 October

Traffic lights are being installed at the junction of Koulukatu and Korsholmanpuistikko, and the works will affect traffic from 8 October 2025 onwards. The works will be carried out in two phases, which means parts of Korsholmanpuistikko will be temporarily closed on two separate occasions. Traffic along Koulukatu will remain open throughout the works.
The works are expected to last for approximately six weeks, from 8 October to 19 November 2025. The work will be carried out in two phases.
In the first phase, access from Koulukatu to Korsholmanpuistikko towards Raastuvankatu will be closed. During that time, it will not be possible to turn from Koulukatu onto Korsholmanpuistikko in the direction of Raastuvankatu. The first phase is scheduled to last three weeks.
In the second phase, traffic coming from the direction of Rantakatu will be blocked from entering Koulukatu. Turning from Koulukatu towards Rantakatu will also be blocked. The second phase is scheduled to continue for a further three weeks.
Traffic along Koulukatu will remain open throughout the works. Traffic controllers will guide vehicles on Koulukatu on weekdays from 7.00–15.30. At all other times, traffic will be controlled by temporary traffic lights.
Changes to bus routes
During the first three weeks, public transport lines 1, 4, 4V, 7, 7K and 12 will run directly along Raastuvankatu. During this time, they will not run along Korsholmanpuistikko and Koulukatu, and will not stop at the following bus stops:
- Hietalahdenkatu 5 (Central Hospital)
- Hietalahdenkatu 2 (Central Hospital)
- Hietalahdenkatu 11
- Hietalahdenkatu 8 / Swimming hall
Lines 21 and 30 will follow their regular route. The changes will be updated in the route planner when the work begins.
