The Korkeamäki junction bridge will be temporarily closed on 22 October – expect changes to bus routes

All vehicle traffic will be diverted via Pitkämäentie and Yhdystie. The works will also affect traffic on Highway 3. The pedestrian and cycle path section on the junction bridge will remain open as usual.

The inspection will not be carried out in rainy weather, so the work will be done weather permitting. In case of rain, the inspection will be postponed to Thursday 23 October instead.

Earlier in October, condition inspections were carried out on the junction bridges at Kauppapuistikko and Hietalahdenkatu.

Public transport will be affected

Works on the Korkeamäki bridge will cause temporary changes to public transport.

Line 7 on Wednesday 22 October:

• From the city centre to Liisanlehto: Rantamaantie – Motorway – Rinnakkaistie
• From Liisanlehto to the city centre: Kanavasillantie – Yhdystie – Rantamaantie – Hietalahdenkatu (Buses travelling this way will skip the Suvilahti residential area.)
• Line 7 will detour via the roundabout by Hietalahti Hesburger onto the motorway, rejoining its usual route at the Hirventie bridge junction.

Line 12 on Wednesday 22 October:

• From the city centre to Suvilahti: Rantamaantie – Motorway – Rinnakkaistie
• From Suvilahti to the city centre: Suvilahdentie – Rinnakkaistie – Yhdystie – Rantamaantie – Hietalahdenkatu
• Line 12 will detour via the roundabout by Hietalahti Hesburger onto the motorway, rejoining its usual route at the Hirventie bridge junction.

Line 30 starting Monday 20 October:

• Buses will run in both directions along the Hietalahdenkatu – Rantamaantie – Yhdystie route.
• The changes will be updated in the route planner and will remain in effect for the entire winter timetable until 31 May 2026.
