The new bicycle path in Kronvik has been completed

A 2.6 km long bicycle path has been completed in Sundom as a joint project between the City of Vaasa and the ELY Centre for South Ostrobothnia. The new combined pedestrian and cycle path enhances traffic safety and improves connections, particularly between Kronvik and the school in Sundom.
A new 2.6-kilometre cycle path has been completed on Kronvikintie in Sundom, between Sundomintie and Vanha Kronvikintie. The new separate path enhances traffic safety in the area. The project aimed specifically to improve connections from Kronvik to the school in Sundom.
The new shared path enhances connections for both cyclists and pedestrians. Bicycle shelters been installed at both ends of Stråkantie and Vanha Kronvikintie, providing a total of 14 bicycle parking spaces.

The cycle path was opened for traffic with a gravel surface last autumn. It was surfaced with asphalt in May and has been in full use since. Final finishing work has now been carried out to tidy the ditches and improve the overall appearance.
The cycle path has been a joint project between the City of Vaasa and the ELY Centre for South Ostrobothnia. The city’s street construction unit carried out the work, and upon final completion, the cycle path will be transferred to the ELY Centre. Going forward, the ELY Centre will be responsible for maintaining the path. Cycle path users are also kindly asked to direct their feedback to the ELY Centre.
