The Vaasa Choir Festival will bring choral music to Vaasa from 14 to 17 May 2026. The main performers of the four-day festival include, among others, the a cappella group Club for Five, Jyväskylä Female Choir, and the Helsinki Chamber Choir, which will perform together with the Vaasa City Orchestra. Registration for choirs is open until the end of January.
Now in its 32nd year, the festival will open with the traditional concert at Vaasa City Hall. The programme features a variety of choral concerts across the city throughout the festival.
Club for Five will perform at the Ritz on Saturday 16 May at 19, taking the audience on a journey through different eras of Finnish music – from Katri Helena to Nightwish, Dingo to the Kuumaa band and Georg Malmstén to Juha Tapio.
The Helsinki Chamber Choir and the Vaasa City Orchestra will perform on Friday 15 May at 18 in Vaasa Church, featuring works by Einojuhani Rautavaara and Ludwig van Beethoven.
Jyväskylä Female Choir, named Choir of the Year by the Association of Finnish Female Choirs, will perform at Vaasa City Hall on Saturday 16 May. On the same day, children can enjoy the Pikku Ankka Vaakkunokka performance, featuring the Children’s Choir Estradi and Wasa Sinfonietta.
Alongside the main acts, the Vaasa Choir Festival also offers a wide range of free events for a variety of audiences.
