Warning of weak ice in Palosaari in front of the Pått wastewater treatment plant and in the Pilvilampi area

The treated water discharged from the outlet pipe of the Pått wastewater treatment plant remains warm even in winter. This prevents ice from forming and weakens the ice in front of the treatment plant. The area to the west and north of the plant starts north of the Palosaari Maritime Museum and continues to the boat piers on Kulmakatu. 

The areas of open water and weak ice will be marked with spruce branches as soon as ice conditions improve. Warning signs have been placed on the shore on both sides of the Pått treatment plant. Moving in the marked sea area is dangerous. In addition, unauthorized access to the treatment plant area is strictly prohibited.
