Welcome to see the exhibitions – Curator-led tours this spring

This spring, Vaasa Museums invite you to explore their current exhibitions on curator-led tours. During the one-hour tours, the exhibition curators will discuss the key themes and contexts of the exhibitions.

The exhibition Miettinen Collection: Body Politics at the Kuntsi Museum of Modern Art presents a comprehensive overview of Timo Miettinen’s high-quality and international art collection. The exhibition explores the bodily experience both as an individual form of existence and as part of a broader social and political context. The collection, previously shown in Germany and at Kunsthalle Helsinki, is presented in Vaasa as a unique iteration, featuring over 120 works by 52 artists. The exhibition is open until 4 April.

  • Wednesday 25 February, 16–17 – in Finnish, led by Head of Exhibions, Chief Curator Maaria Salo
  • Wednesday 4 March, 16–17 – in Swedish, led by Exhibition Curator Janna Sirén
  • Wednesday 11 March, 16–17 – in Finnish, led by Exhibition Curator Noora Lehtovuori

The exhibition Lay of(f) the Land at the Ostrobothnian Museum presents perspectives on the contemporary northern landscape, identity, and the dialogue between humans and nature. It brings together eight artists from Finland, Sweden, and Norway. The exhibition runs until 12 April.

  • Wednesday 25 March, 16–17 – in Finnish, led by Exhibition Curator Noora Lehtovuori
  • Wednesday 8 April, 16–17 – in Swedish, led by Exhibition Curator Janna Sirén

Curator-led tours are included in the museums’ admission fee.
