Preparing for a changing climate – together

The increase in heatwaves and intensification of heavy rainfall are results of advancing climate change. Even with successful emission cuts, climate change cannot be stopped; therefore, it is vital to adapt to its effects.

The City of Vaasa wants to hear from local residents about how the changing climate affects their daily lives and what needs they may have. The event will also explore how residents can prepare and how the city can support their preparedness. Join us to share your views and help shape the future of Vaasa!

The event is open to everyone interested. Coffee is served from 16.30, with the discussion starting at 17.

The results of the discussion will be used in the City of Vaasa’s efforts to adapt to climate change. The implementation is supported by the EU’s climate change adaptation mission through the MIP4Adapt project. An expert from Tyrsky-Konsultointi Oy will facilitate the event.

Vaasa has been named a European Green Leaf City for 2026. The European Commission awards this recognition annually to cities that promote sustainable development and work systematically for the environment and climate.
