”Monologue from the book Iltatähti”
Laura Malmivaara is known for her powerful presence both on stage and in front of the camera. However, she is a truly versatile artist. She is a writer who structures her inner world through writing, with two novels to her name, as well as a photographer and singer. Last year, Malmivaara published the autofictional novel Iltatähti (Evening Star), which tells the story of a middle-aged woman’s road trip to a literary festival with her two daughters.
During the evening, we will hear excerpts from Iltatähti, but also music, as Malmivaara is joined by arranger-composer-vibraphonist Arttu Takalo. His orchestral arrangements, including works based on Edith Södergran’s poems, will be performed alongside the readings.
