• Energy technology solutions designed and built in Vaasa are increasing our carbon handprint globally.
• We guide businesses and organisations in transitioning to energy-efficient, low-carbon practices.
• Vaasa is a gateway to the world. We are deepening our Nordic strategic partnerships, including with Umeå.

• We are strengthening innovation collaboration between universities and businesses, aiming for success as well as start-ups and spin-offs.

• We are strengthening the talent pipeline from early childhood education through to universities and business innovation platforms.

• The city’s financial foundation is sustainable. We provide effective services at every stage of life, within the city’s financial framework, enabling Vaasa to grow boldly and with ambition.
• We plan and maintain safe, pleasant residential areas that help prevent segregation and social exclusion. In Sundom and Vähäkyrö, we support rural-style living close to the city and workplaces.
• We nurture and enhance Vaasa’s maritime character, greenery, and beauty as a source of happiness for residents. We protect and foster biodiversity.
• We promote the city’s accessibility by developing rail, air, sea, and road connections. We prioritise low-emission and smart mobility solutions.

• We strengthen the impact of local democracy. We support residents’ opportunities to participate and influence decisions through participatory budgeting and a participation programme.
• We deepen our collaboration with the Wellbeing Services County, NGOs, parishes, and communities, creating added value for all parties.
• We are building a safe city that fosters trust and mental wellbeing, where everyone can feel a sense of belonging.
• We focus on preparedness and resilience. We learn, adapt and thrive in a changing environment.

• Vaasa has been recognised as a child-friendly municipality by UNICEF, and we continue to make ever better decisions by putting children’s future first. We systematically prevent school violence through early support and strong collaboration.
• We are building Finland’s highest-quality early childhood education and education pathway. We empower literacy, writing, and emotional skills.
• We develop safe learning environments that emphasise sustainable values, diversity, creativity, and technology.
• We provide opportunities for all children and young people to pursue hobbies.
• We develop safe transport routes and urban spaces where children can move safely.

Art, culture and physical activity – keys to a happy life

• We strengthen the diversity of our vibrant cultural scene. Culture generates wellbeing.
• We develop solutions that enable every resident of Vaasa, from children to older adults, to find a way to enjoy sports and culture.
