Helsingør

Helsingør is the largest town in the Helsingør region and is characterised by a historic town center with narrow streets, crooked half-timbered houses, and well-kept Merchant farms.

Helsingør is a city full of history, culture, and memories. From royal ballrooms to small craft shops, old Helsingør is a piece of Danish history, which you can feel. Side by side with the many historic buildings, there is a strong and creative commercial life with lots of shops, creative companies, and good restaurants in beautiful surroundings. The rich and vibrant market town has profited from the many ships that had to pay ‘Øresundstold’ (Øresund customs) for over 400 years. Now Helsingør is without customs, but with at least as much culture, life, and energy.

Helsingør Municipality is home to almost 65,000 citizens, spread over 121 km2. You can find cozy harbour environments in Espergærde, Snekkersten, and Ålsgårde, the beach town of Hornbæk with summer houses and holiday feeling, beautiful forests and industrial history in Hellebæk, and village atmosphere in Tikøb.

All close to the sea and with nature in the backyard.
