Municipal regional information and service areas

In this section you can find the latest information about population size and the number of jobs available in the municipalities. You can also view a map showing the population in the different municipal districts.

An interesting table is, for example, Vaasa’s accessibility by car from distances of 60, 90, and 120 minutes.

Municipal sub-area division. The sub-areas of a municipality consist of functional entities defined by the municipality itself, serving as the basis for its spatial planning and monitoring. The sub-area division is a hierarchical three-level classification, consisting of a 1-digit major area level, a 2-digit statistical area level, and a 3-digit sub-area level. The sub-areas are numbered sequentially using these three hierarchical levels. In the maps of the information service, the sub-area level is used.

Accessibility area map. Areas that can be reached within a certain time by car using the public road network. The starting point for the accessibility areas has been Vaasa railway station.
