The relation between the number of start-ups and closures of companies in the Vaasa region is positive; more companies are created than closed and the number of jobs remains has remained stable even though automation and digitalization has constantly made the region’s industry more productive.
The GDP/inhabitant or the turnover/inhabitant of the companies’ offices is on top in the Vaasa region compared to the reference cities. The R&D-investments in the region has already during several year’s time exceeded 200 million euros per year.
