A heartfelt and wonderful concert with singer-songwriter Désireé Saarela and bass clarinetist Luca Bordonaro. The finnish-swedish blends with southern European in a new exciting combination and musical experience.

Saarela and Bordonaro make a collaboration across national borders where two very different cultures and people meet and find something in common that becomes new music. A great meeting and a new unique album. From the Sicilian volcanic jasmine-, lemon- and almond-scented island to the forest- and lake-rich country that Finland represents.

Malakta’s hall is filled with the sweet sounds of music fusing two different cultures
and Malakta’s kitchen is filled with the aromas of Italian coffee and Finnish sourdough bread, served during the break for a voluntary fee. It is also possible to buy freshly baked sourdough bread home during the evening.

The entrance fee is voluntary and you pay what you want and can afford.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS

Désirée Saarela’s and Luca Bordonaro’s paths crossed at the Womex world music fair in Porto in 2021. After many fruitful conversations about music and creativity, they decided to collaborate. Since then, they have visited each other’s homes in Ostrobothnia, Finland and Sicily, as well as playing concerts in Norway and Finland.

The last concert Saarela played was in Austria/Krems to an audience of over 700 people. The duo is very much looking forward to sharing the music from the new album with the Ostrobothnian audience.
