VALO-LJUS Light Event on Thursday 20 November 2025 at 18
Join the illuminated procession in Vaasa on Thursday 20 November at 18 to celebrate World Children’s Day and the UN Declaration of the Rights of the Child. Starting at Vaasa Market Square with the reading of the Declaration, the event continues as an illuminated procession to TaiKon at the Barracks area, finishing with spectacular light performances.
Event schedule:
– 18.00 – Reading of the UN Declaration of the Rights of the Child at Vaasa Market Square
– Approx. 18.10 – The illuminated procession departs for TaiKon
– Approx. 18.20 – Procession arrives at TaiKon courtyard (Kasarmi 11, Itäinen Kasarmi 7–9) for performances.
At TaiKon courtyard, participants can enjoy a light show created by students from TaiKon’s theatre, dance, circus, crafts, media, and visual arts programmes.
The event lights up the dark November evening with warmth and colour. We warmly invite everyone to celebrate children’s rights with us and join the procession. Remember to bring your own light or lantern!
The event is open to all and lasts about 45 minutes.
The VALO-LJUS Light Event is organised by TaiKon, a provider of basic education in the arts.
