Youth Pride Week offers a diverse program for young people, focusing on equality, community, and joy.
Wednesday, 1 July – Youth Pride Picnic
📍 Onkilahti Park (Järvikatu 7, Vaasa traffic park side)
🕓 4:00–7:00 PM
A relaxed and open picnic for young people. Nuoli, the Youth Services camper van, will be present at the event, and Youth Services will provide light snacks and refreshments. Come spend time together, meet other young people, and enjoy the summer atmosphere. You are also welcome to bring your own picnic.
Thursday, 2 July – Sign and Banner Workshop for Young People
📍 Youth Information and Guidance Centre (Raastuvankatu 30, Vaasa)
🕓 4:00–7:00 PM
Get ready for the Pride weekend by creating your own signs and banners. Materials will be provided by the organizers, but you are also welcome to bring your own supplies. The workshop offers a chance to express yourself creatively and help build visibility for Pride.
Friday, 3 July – Youth Pride Event
📍 Main Library Drama Hall (Kirjastonkatu 13, Vaasa)
🕔 5:00–8:00 PM
The evening program features a variety of inspiring activities for young people. The event includes a panel discussion focusing on youth equality, participation, and safety. There will also be a collaborative art station where participants can create artwork together, a musical performance by the City of Vaasa’s summer artist, and guest drag performers appearing through Vaasa Seta.
The event is organized in cooperation with the Vaasa Aktia Foundation, Vaasa Seta, Mieli Ostrobothnia / Nuorimieli Centre, the Finnish Parish of Vaasa, Folkhälsan, Vaasa City Culture Services and Regnbågsallians.
Saturday, 4 July – Vaasa Pride Parade
📍 Vaasa Market Square and Inner Harbour
Nuoli and youth workers will be present at the Market Square before the parade. Some youth workers will also participate in the parade itself. After the parade, Nuoli will be located at the Inner Harbour as a meeting place for young people until 4:30 PM.
