Boating channel opening hours in summer 2026
In summer 2026, the boating channel between Kalaranta and the Inner Harbour will be closed at times due to the construction of the Vaskiluoto pedestrian and cycling bridge. The channel will be kept open whenever it is safe to do so.
Below you can see when the channel is closed. At any other times, the channel is open.
Boating channel is closed:
- Week 20 (11–17 May) Closed Mon 6.00 – Fri 20.00
- Week 21 (18–24 May) Closed Mon 6.00 – Fri 20.00
- Week 22 (25–31 May) Closed Mon 6.00 – Thu 20.00

When the channel is closed, boaters must go around Vaskiluoto.
Checking the channel’s opening status on site
You can also check the boating channel’s current opening status on site. If the channel is not closed off by buoys, it is open for boaters. When the buoys are in place, the channel is closed.
