A unique artists’ concert at Kuntsi Museum of Modern Art on the 19th of May
Published: 12.5.2026
On Tuesday the 19th of May 2026 at 7 pm, Kuntsi Museum of Modern Art will host a joint concert by Marcus Lerviks and Florian Tuercke, the two artists behind the exhibition Apocalypse No/w. The concert forms part of the accompanying programme for the exhibition opening on 16 May and is closely linked to the exhibition’s themes.
The concert introduces the audience to a special string instrument: the Longboardharp, developed by the German artist Florian Tuercke, is a unique instrument built by the artist himself. Vaasa-based Marcus Lerviks plays guitar and bass.
Last winter, Florian Tuercke released the album Project Longboardharp – Songbook, Vol. 1, recorded in Salzburg and featuring string instruments he created himself. The music sits at the intersection of jazz and folk, with influences from post-rock and neoclassicism.
As part of the Apocalypse No/w exhibition, a soundscape composed of Tuercke’s recent sound sculptures and installations has been created on the upper floor of Kuntsi Museum of Modern Art. However, the sound works in the exhibition will not be presented during the concert, as they form independent sound pieces.
The museum doors will be closed for the duration of the concert, so the audience is kindly asked to arrive in good time. Admission is €15.
Florian Tuercke works at the intersection of sculpture, performance art, and sound art. Many of Tuercke’s projects are interactive and invite audiences to take part in experiencing the work. Marcus Lerviks works extensively with video, installations, light, and sound. Music plays a significant role in his most recent works. The exhibition on view at Kuntsi has been designed specifically for the museum space.
The exhibition Apocalypse No/w is on view at Kuntsi Museum of Modern Art from the 16th of May to the 29th of August 2026.
