Published: 28.7.2025
The City of Vaasa’s Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) uses an app called Edlevo App. In August, communication between guardians and ECEC will move from Wilma to Edlevo.
Edlevo is a free digital service used for ECEC-related matters in Vaasa.
The following Edlevo App features are currently available to guardians:
- Suggestion for a new ECEC placement
- Electronic service and payment decisions
- Updating the guardian’s personal contact details
- Adding an alternative pickup person
- Submitting income information
- Booking care hours
- Reporting a child’s sudden absence
- Viewing your care hour bookings and attendance record
- Terminating an ECEC placement
Going forward, reporting care needs during holidays will also be handled via Edlevo
From the beginning of August, communication between guardians and Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) will move from Wilma to Edlevo. This applies to municipal daycare units, family daycare, and service voucher daycare units.
Following the change, Edlevo will become the main channel of communication between ECEC and guardians in Vaasa.
The following features will be available to guardians in the Edlevo App from August 2025:
- Messaging: guardians can send and receive messages
- Notifications: guardians will receive early childhood education updates through Edlevo
- Guardian consents (permission requests): after the change, guardians will be able to give consent for various matters electronically through the app.
- Discussion appointments: guardians can view and book discussion times offered by ECEC.
- Holiday periods: the autumn break is the first holiday period during which guardians can report care needs via Edlevo.
All early childhood education services in one app
Wilma will continue to be used in ECEC throughout the autumn term 2025 for updating the child’s early childhood education and care plan, pre-primary learning plan, and support documents.
The plan is to phase out the use of Wilma in ECEC entirely during 2026.
Currently, the City of Vaasa’s early childhood education and care services utilise several different systems and applications. An ongoing system overhaul in early childhood education aims to simplify customers’ daily lives and streamline staff work. The reform will transition to using a single service, Edlevo.
