How can households save energy and money? Vaasa organises a Residents' Panel on energy-smart living

What does energy-smart living mean in practice? How can households reduce their energy consumption while saving money? These questions will be explored at a Residents' Panel on energy-smart living, organised by the City of Vaasa on Saturday 24 October. The event will be preceded by an open webinar on Monday 5 October, where participants can learn about Vaasa's energy system.
A free and open Residents’ Panel will be held in the Council Chamber at Vaasa’s Administrative Building on Saturday 24 October, 2026 from 9.15 a.m. to 3.00 p.m.
The Residents’ Panel will feature expert presentations, local case examples and discussions on energy-efficient living. Topics include energy savings, housing costs and sustainable energy solutions.
During the day, participants will also have the opportunity to share their own experiences and views in workshops and group discussions. The aim is to gather residents’ ideas and suggestions on energy-efficient living and future energy solutions in Vaasa.
Participation is free of charge, and participants will be provided with a light lunch and coffee. Presentations will be given in Finnish and Swedish, with AI-assisted English translation available throughout the event.

Webinar introduces Vaasa’s energy system on 5 October
Before the Residents’ Panel, an open webinar will be held on Monday 5 October, 2026 from 6.00 p.m. to 7.00 p.m., introducing participants to Vaasa’s energy system.
The webinar will provide an overview of the development of Vaasa’s energy system, current topics related to the energy transition, and how energy is produced and utilised in our city today and in the future. The webinar will be conducted in Finnish, and presentation materials will be available in both Finnish and Swedish. Participants will also have the opportunity to ask questions.
The webinar is organised as part of Finland’s National Energy Saving Week and is recommended for everyone participating in the Residents’ Panel. No advance registration is required.
