Lehtikuusentie reopens to traffic on 5 October

Traffic on Lehtikuusentie will return to normal from Monday 5 October. Lifti line 5 will resume its normal route on Tuesday 6 October.
Lehtikuusentie has been closed since March due to construction work on the underpass. The old underpass has now been replaced with an entirely new bridge.
The old underpass was built in the 1970s and had reached the end of its service life.
New bridge improves safety
The new bridge meets current requirements for underpass clearance height and width. With a clearance height of 3.2 metres, the underpass can now also be used by emergency vehicles and maintenance vehicles.
The pedestrian and cycle path through the underpass has also been widened, and the stormwater drainage system has been upgraded.
Lifti line 5 will resume its normal route on Tuesday
From Tuesday 6 October, Lifti line 5 will once again operate on its normal route:
- From the city centre towards Kråklund: Välitie – Kappelinmäentie – Vanhan Vaasan katu – Kråklundinkatu.
- From Kråklund towards the city centre: Kråklundinkatu – Kauppiaankatu – Lehtikuusentie –Vanhan Vaasan katu – Kappelinmäentie – Välitie.
