Poet and flutist Johanna Suvenmetsä has put together a touching and atmospheric program for a chamber music concert on September 24.
The concert takes place on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at 6 PM at Vaasa City Hall and will take listeners on a journey through childhood summer days, autumn rains, spring greenery, and the timeless light of memories. The glowing colors of autumn carry nostalgia, love, and eternity, while the small moments reveal the philosophical beauty of life. Alongside Johanna Suvenmetsä’s poetry recitation we will hear music by Henry Purcell, Leonora Duarte, Claude Debussy, and Edgar Varèse. Flutists Suvenmetsä, Erica Nygård and Salla Knif, along with the viola da gamba ensemble Wasa Consort, will also offer improvisations. Wasa Consort members include Elena Hämäläinen, Pontus Grans and Eero Marttila. The texts for the concert are written by Johanna Suvenmetsä.
