Paid parking to be introduced on Kauppahallinkuja in November

After mid-November, the City of Vaasa will introduce paid parking for the six parking spaces on Kauppahallinkuja that were previously available with a parking disc. After the change, the same parking rules will apply throughout the parking area.
The aim is to make parking rules clearer
The Kauppahallinkuja parking area has 40 spaces, six of which have so far been available for up to 30 minutes with a parking disc. Parking fees already apply to the remaining 34 spaces.
Having several different parking restrictions in the same area has caused confusion among drivers. Many people have received a parking fine because they paid for parking in a parking disc space but failed to display their parking disc.
The change aims to clarify the parking rules and reduce parking violations. Once the 30-minute time limit is removed, all parking spaces will be available for an unlimited period for a fee.
Kauppahallinkuja is in parking zone 1
The Kauppahallinkuja parking area is located behind the Kauppahalli indoor market and can be accessed from Rauhankatu. The area is in parking zone 1, and parking charges are based on the rates for this zone.
