Publishing your job applicant profile is now part of the job search process

For unemployed job seekers, publishing a Job Applicant Profile will, as of 1 September 2026, generally be a mandatory part of the job search process. The profile is published on Job Market Finland, where employers can search for suitable candidates for open positions.
When you register as an unemployed job seeker, you generally have 15 working days from the start of your job search to complete and publish your Job Applicant Profile.
If you fail to publish your job applicant profile within the deadline, an employment official will enter the minimum information in the profile and publish the profile on your behalf. However, you can supplement and update your profile at any time, even after the employment official has published it.
Employers can use job applicant profiles to find skilled workers for open jobs. The more diversely and accurately you describe your competence, experience and interests, the more likely it is that you come to an employer’s attention at the right time. From now on, the expert responsible for your employment services can view the information in your job applicant profile. In service encounters, you can discuss the content of your profile together and find ways for you to describe your competence in a way that makes it as attractive to employers as possible. If necessary, you can get help with completing and improving your profile.
