Take the cycling survey and help develop Vaasa as a cycling-friendly city!
Published: 19.5.2026
Vaasa is investing in improving conditions for pedestrians and cyclists by building new paths and repairing existing ones. Winter maintenance of paths and roads has also been enhanced. The City of Vaasa is now collecting residents’ views on cycling conditions through a survey. A free seasonal bike service will be raffled among the respondents.
The resident satisfaction survey will be conducted twice a year until the end of 2029.
– The survey collects information on the current situation, and also helps us see how resident satisfaction is developing and whether we are focusing on the right areas. It will also allow us to compare the results for summer and winter, and to identify areas for improvement more quickly, says Samuli Huusko, project engineer for cycling and walking.

This year, responses are especially encouraged from residents under 15. UNICEF has awarded Vaasa the Child‑Friendly Municipality recognition as a sign that children’s wellbeing and rights are at the top of the city’s priorities.

The survey is open until 2 June 2026 and only takes a couple of minutes to complete. A free seasonal bike service will be raffled among the respondents. If you wish to participate in the prize draw, please provide your contact details when completing the survey.
You can also complete the survey at Citizen Services office located in Tammipiha (Teräksenkuja 1) and at the Vähäkyrö joint service point (Vähänkyröntie 11) during their opening hours.
Promoting cycling is a part of Vaasa’s Green Leaf 2026 year as well as the Child-Friendly Municipality recognition. Cycling plays a major role in delivering both themes: it boosts the wellbeing of people of all ages while also reducing emissions from transport.
