Vaasa City Orchestra to begin autumn season

The summer season of the Vaasa City Orchestra has come to an end, and the autumn season kicks off with the final concert of the Jorma Panula Academy conducting course at Vaasa City Hall on Fri, Aug 28 at 6 PM.

The conductors at the concert will be the course participants mentored by maestro Jorma Panula, and the soloists will be three cellists. Alli Mankkinen, Pekka Smolander and Alma Stupak are all young rising Finnish cellists who have also achieved competition success in their careers.

The audience will be treated to a traditional symphony concert program: in addition to overtures from W. A. Mozart and G. Rossini operas, there will be J. Haydn’s C major cello concerto and L. van Beethoven’s Symphony No. 4.

With a GRANDE season ticket, you get access to the final concert of the Panula Academy as well as all autumn season concerts except the children’s concert. With a PRONTO season ticket, you get access to the concerts on Sep 11, Oct 8, Oct 29, and Dec 3.
