Vaasa's pre-primary education curriculum is being updated – explore it and share your views!
Published: 8.9.2026
The City of Vaasa's pre-primary education curriculum has been revised to align with the updated Basic Education Act and the national core curriculum for pre-primary education. We would now like to hear the views of parents and guardians as well!
The preparation of the curriculum has been a broad collaborative process. The update involved early childhood education professionals from across the city, including special education teachers in early childhood education, pre-primary education teachers, and daycare centre directors.
As a result, Vaasa now has its own updated pre-primary education curriculum, which will guide the implementation of pre-primary education in all pre-primary education units throughout the city.
During the past year, pre-primary education staff and supervisors have received training on the new legislation and the contents of the updated curriculum.
