We invite children's stuffed animals for a sleepover at the Kuntsi Museum of Modern Art 27 October!

Published: 18.10.2023

The cuddly buddies of the Kuntsi Museum of Modern Art, Night Leopard and Jaguar, invite children’s stuffed animals for a sleepover at the museum on Friday 27 October! After the sleepover, all children and their stuffed animals will have the opportunity to take part in Jaguar’s stuffed animal tour.

The Kuntsi Museum of Modern Art invites all stuffed animals to spend an unforgettable night surrounded by art. The stuffed animals will be accompanied by the Night Leopard and the Jaguar, both of whom are familiar from the stuffed animal tours at the museum.

Children will have the opportunity to bring the stuffed animal of their choice to the museum on Friday 27 October between 11.00 and 17.00 and pick it up on Saturday 28 October between 11.00 and 17.00. The Night Leopard, with its human caretaker, can also take you and your stuffed animal on a tour around the art exhibition. The tours take place on Saturday 28 October at 11.15 in Finnish and 11.45 in Swedish. The guided tours will take you to the Dimensions of a Line exhibition, which is on display at the Kuntsi Museum of Modern Art until 14 April 2024.

It’s probably not a good idea to bring your most beloved sleeping buddy to the museum for the night. Instead, it might be wise to choose an especially curious and adventurous stuffed animal who would enjoy spending the night in a fun environment surrounded by other stuffed animals! You can pack a suitable bed or blanket from home for the stuffed animal you choose to bring to the museum. Museum staff will take detailed notes on how to properly take care of your buddy!

The following week, children will have the opportunity to see photos of how the night at the museum went. For this, check out the Kuntsi Museum of Modern Art’s Facebook page! In addition to a fun activity, a stuffed animal sleepover can be seen as a gentle way to prepare your child to deal with the feeling of separation and sleeping in their own room. It can also prepare your child for future sleepovers of their own!
