Information about the Night of the Arts carnival procession
The Night of the Arts will be celebrated in Vaasa on Thursday 10th of August 2023 in the spirit of carnival. 9 different formations will participate in the Carnival procession of the Night of the Arts, so there is bound to be a lot of fun. Participants in the parade:

- Tanssiurheiluseura Rolling, Joy of Dance
- Wasa Flamenco
- Projekt Liv
- Vaasan Viuhka ry
- Zamora Rytmit
- Sambasisters & Peurat ajovaloissa
Last year, a public vote was held on the participating groups in the procession during 11-19.8.2022. In total 283 votes were given.
LeidiSisters, who won last year’s public vote, will lead this year’s parade, which the winning group named to the Caravan of Joy.
Background of the carnival procession
Traditionally, carnivals celebrate local diversity, a variety of cultures and art forms as well as community spirit. The theme emphasises the transformation of the urban space into a kind of public performance, in which different art forms, different cultures, organisations and social actors as well as city neighbourhoods and their inhabitants get involved.
