The Vaasa City Orchestra has been the home orchestra for everyone in Vähäkyrö ever since Vaasa and Vähäkyrö merged ten years ago. The orchestra will celebrate the anniversary of the merger with a guest concert in the beautiful neoclassical church of Vähänkyrö. Eero Lehtimäki leads the orchestra into a beautiful array of Finnish music from Toivo Kuula to drama music of Sibelius. Erik Tulindberg’s Violin Concerto, from the same era as the church, will be performed by Kreeta-Maria Kentala, a pioneer of the Finnish early music movement.
