Open Stage on the Pedestrian Street

Do you have a talent in music, dance, stand-up, poetry, theatre, or something else you’d like to showcase? The Open Stage area on the pedestrian street is open to everyone! The Open Stage area can be booked from June 5 to August 31 in 2026, between 09:00 and 18:00.

Performance Area for Everyone

Located in the market square area on the pedestrian street, the performance space is approximately 3 x 6 metres and open to anyone – completely free of charge. Here, both hobby performers and experienced artists can create atmosphere and bring life to the heart of the city.

How It Works

All you need to do is book a performance slot through Tori-Info. Then simply arrive and perform!

Practical Information

  • The performance area is intended for all performers. The area is not intended for companies’ or associations’ sales and marketing activities. A sales spot can be reserved at the marketplace.
  • Performance area: approximately 3 x 6 metres
  • Electricity is available on site
  • Instruments and sound systems are not included in the booking
  • With a library card, you can borrow a cargo bike from Vaasa City Library. The “Moving Stage” cargo bike comes equipped with a sound system as standard, making it ideal for organizing a small event or performing a gig. Read more about the cargo bike here (only in finnish and swedish).
  • Performing is free of charge
  • Applying for permits and making any required official notifications are the responsibility of the event organizer
  • Small public events with few participants do not require notification to the police. If you are unsure whether a notification is needed, please check with the police permit unit. Read more about organizing events here (only i finnish and swedish).
