Data protection on social media

The City of Vaasa does not collect personal information through social media or use it for marketing purposes outside of the social media service, for example.

If, for example, personal information is collected through a separate form for the purposes of a competition, consent for the use of that personal information will be requested separately. The form will also explain how the data will be used and stored.

Private messages are only stored for as long as the conversation remains active. After that, they are deleted. Feedback used to improve services is collected and processed without personal data.

We do not process sensitive or personal information on social media platforms. For example, we never discuss matters related to health or invoices.
