Kokkola Industrial Park, KIP, is the largest ecosystem of inorganic chemical industry In Northern Europe, where several leading chemical and metal processing companies operate. The park consists of 17 international industrial factories and nearly 60 service companies and is situated next to the third largest general port in Finland. Circular economy and industrial symbioses have been a natural part of the park for decades. During 2010–2019, a total of 800 million euros was invested in the development of the park. Future investments are always being built with environmental well-being and future generations in mind.

Future Cleantech Solutions is a project that promotes cleantech companies’ opportunities for concrete business and cooperation possibilities by enhancing the practical information on business and cross-border collaboration opportunities within the Kvarken region. The project is financed by the European Regional Development Fund Interreg Botnia-Atlantica, Regional Council of Ostrobothnia, Vaasa Region Development Company VASEK, Kokkolanseudun Kehitys Oy KOSEK, Technology Center Merinova, The City of Vaasa, Region Västerbotten, Umeå municipality, Umeå Energi, Skellefteå municipality, Skellefteå Kraft, Region Västernorrland and Örnsköldsvik municipality.
