Parking fee zones
In addition to street parking, the City of Vaasa offers several parking areas. These parking spaces are divided into zones with corresponding parking rates. Within the Vaasa city area, all parking spaces are free of charge on Sundays and public holidays.

Parking at the harbor has become subject to a fee starting from February 5, 2025, according to Zone 3 regulations.
Parking Enforcement
Parking enforcement ensures that rules and regulations regarding stopping, parking, and idling are followed.
In Vaasa, parking is monitored by both the police and the city’s parking inspectors. Municipal parking enforcement officers and inspectors can be easily identified by their uniform, badge, and official ID.
Our goal is to keep traffic flowing smoothly and ensure fair use of parking spaces for everyone.
The parking violation fee
The parking violation fee is €50.00. After the due date, an additional charge of €14.00 will be applied to unpaid parking violation fees.
The violation fee can also be paid at the city’s cash desk in Citizen Services, located at:
Tammipiha, Pitkäkatu 28, 65100 Vaasa (entrance from the inner courtyard).
Appealing a Parking Violation Fee
If you believe you have received a parking violation fee incorrectly, you can submit an appeal. A request for correction can be made to the parking enforcement authority.
Important: The appeal must be submitted within 30 days from the date the decision was attached to the vehicle or otherwise communicated.
You can submit your appeal easily through the HelgaParkin online service by using your vehicle’s registration number and the case number found on the parking violation notice.
Alternatively, the appeal can be sent by email, post, or delivered in person.
